About the Author

Joseph Beuys (Klefeld 1921 – Düsseldorf 1986) was a German artist who worked with various media and techniques, including sculpture, performance, happenings, video, installation, painting, and printmaking.

In 1962, he founded the Fluxus group, of which he became its most significant and famous member.

In 1970, he became a professor at the Kuntsakademie in Düsseldorf.

His work is exhibited in museums around the world.

In 1967, he founded the German Student Party, which a few years later led to the founding of the Alliance 90/Greens.

Joseph Beuys was a visionary artist whose innovative ideas and artistic practices have left a lasting impact on the art world, and his legacy continues to inspire artists and activists today.
