About the Artist:

Victor Mira (Zaragoza 1949 – Munich 2003) lived between Barcelona and Munich. His work ranges from magical surrealism to figurative, hermetic, and tragic expressionism.

He has also published numerous poetry collections and other artist's books in very short editions.

From 1987 to 2000, he worked on a religious theme that demonstrates the incredible intensity of each canvas, always remembering that he works in series. His sculptural career is discontinuous and maintains the constant themes of his painting. Periods: 1969 to the mid-1970s, 1983 to 1985, and 1987 to 2003.

In 2003, he was named the best living Spanish artist by the ARCO fair. He embarked on the Disparates de Fuendetodos project, where he paid homage to Goya by continuing the prints from the Disparates series. Víctor Mira died in Munich on November 18, 2003.

His work is featured in various museums around the world.
